Classroom Expectations

Homework

Expect that there will be some kind of homework every night. Homework should be completed neatly, in pencil. It is your child’s responsibility to complete and return homework. Attached to the top of each homework packet is a homework communication page. This sheet will show your student’s homework for the night, preview the next day’s specialist, and give you a summary of your child’s day. It is your child’s job to share and explain the assignments, how his/her day went, and get a signature at the bottom. Homework sheets should be signed every night and returned the next day in your child’s take-home folder.

Behavior and Discipline

Classroom rules are necessary to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn in a safe environment. The students and I work together to create our classroom rules. We will also refer to our school-wide expectations and discipline plan: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful. We will discuss safe, responsible, and respectful behaviors as a class, including ways to fix behaviors and logical consequences if behaviors are not fixed.
