Archaeology and History
Sesto has an important Etruscan and medieval heritage:
Etruscan Tumuli: You can visit the Tomba della Montagnola and the Tomba della Mula, among the best-preserved funerary monuments from the Orientalizing period in Tuscany.
Religious Architecture: The Parish Church of Sant’Andrea a Cercina is a Romanesque jewel worth a visit for its frescoes and evocativeatmosphere.
Outdoor Sports and Trekking:
The true highlight is Monte Morello, considered the "green lung" of the area. Here you can practice:
Mountain Biking: Active communities like the Morello Bike Republic manage specific routes and organize events like the "Notturna da lupi".
Hiking and Trail Running: Classic trails start from the Fonte dei Seppi and head towards the Torre di Baracca or Piazzale Leonardo da Vinci, offering panoramic views of Florence.
Leisure and Local Life
Shopping and Markets: The city center is full of artisan shops. The weekly Saturday market is a traditional opportunity to discover the typical products of the plain.
Events: Throughout the year, cultural events and festivals celebrate local cuisine and Sesto's community.

Every Saturday (except if it is a holiday), the local market takes place in the two squares near the town hall, Vittorio Veneto square and del Mercato square. In del Mercato square you can buy local products such as vegetables and fruit, dairy products, grains, fish and meat. The vegetables sold by these stalls are from all the cities near Sesto making sure to sell fresh and km0 products. Other than just selling local products, in Del Mercato Square there are some food stalls which sell freshly baked fried fish and typical food and have tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal. Instead, in Vittorio Veneto square fabric and clothes are sold.

During the year, there are two editions of this event: one in spring and the other one in autumn. Only Sesto Fiorentino citizens can apply as sellers sending a request to the municipality, but, on the other hand, everybody can buy.
