PRACTICE AT HOME
PRACTICE AT HOME
Our off-book date is Nov. 4th! That means everyone needs to be memorized by the rehearsal on November 4th. Everyone should be practicing at home every day. Ways to practice:
Notice what is coming up in rehearsals and look at your part for that song
Listen to the guide vocals for the whole show using the google site tracks
Read through your whole script at home so you know when you need to be on stage based on what is happening in the story
What does practicing your lines at home look like?
Check out this handout with tips from Anya!
Tips for how to memorize lines:
Write them out in red pen, over and over!
Record yourself saying them and listen back
Practice them with a family member
Record yourself saying the lines surrounding yours, with time in between for your lines - then listen back to the recording and fill in the silence with your lines
Say them often, and say them OUT LOUD!
What does practicing songs at home look like?
1.Know what songs/dances you are in - find Full Script in a pdf below ⬇️
2. After you have learned the song or dance ONCE in rehearsal you need to memorize it at home
(For example, all cast members (except for some, you know who you are) are in
the Whole Being Dead Thing Part 1. That dance and song should be memorized next time we review it!)
3. Find the videos and recordings of that song in the folder below
4. Sing along with the recording with words
5. Dance along with the video of the choreo (dance movements)
6. Memorize the song and the dance movements, until you can perform them both together
7. Practice with the "performance track" recording that has no words
8. Perform it for family and friends WITH EXPRESSION!
Have fun!
