Day 10: Mini Golf Masters
Putting techniques were practiced through creative course challenges and target games. Warriors enjoyed navigating fun obstacles while developing precision and control. The session ended with friendly competition and celebration of everyone's progress throughout the week.
Owls: We discussed famous tall buildings and what is needed in architecture to build them. Then, in groups, we competed to create the most stable structure using marshmallows and spaghetti, aiming to build the tallest design.
Eagles: We began by completing our auto robot or car assembly. Then, we reflected on the knowledge we had gained to find solutions to current engineering problems using the materials available.
Day 9: Floor Hockey
Stick handling, passing, and shooting fundamentals were taught through progressive drills. Small-sided games allowed players to apply their new skills in action-packed scenarios. The fast-paced fun had everyone working up a sweat while learning this exciting team sport.
We took the time to review last week’s concept on building toy cars. During this session, we revisited the key principles and techniques involved in the design and construction process. Students discussed the various materials used, the importance of balance and stability, and how different components affect the car's performance.
Day 8: Dodgeball Day
Throwing, catching, and dodging skills were developed through safe, inclusive games. The modified rules ensured everyone stayed active and engaged throughout the session. Cheers and good sportsmanship highlighted this classic gym class favorite.
Today, we worked on building various robotic items. Students were able to construct their own mini robots with different functions. They learned to follow procedures by pairing and assembling different parts correctly.
Day 7: Jump Rope Challenge
Warriors explored different jumping techniques from basic bounces to creative crosses. Energetic group activities and individual challenges kept everyone moving and laughing. The session ended with impressive displays of coordination and endurance from all skill levels.
In today's activity, students had the opportunity to design their own mazes, allowing them to unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills. By creating a maze, students constructed their own games, set specific rules, and engaged in critical thinking as they navigated challenges. This project encouraged them to think about the mechanics of game design and how rules impacted gameplay.
Day 6: Pickleball Play
Warriors got acquainted with this growing sport through serving drills and net play. The simple rules made it easy for everyone to join in the action right away. Smiles and high-fives were plentiful during the lively games that closed the session.
We learned about different types of bridges and the forces required to sustain them. Afterward, students designed a new bridge using recycled materials. The aim was to encourage them to think critically about how to build a strong and functional bridge.
Day 5: Table Tennis
Basic grips and strokes were introduced through engaging partner activities and accuracy challenges. Players enjoyed testing their reflexes in fast-paced rallies and friendly competitions. The session proved that big fun comes in small packages with this exciting indoor sport.
We will take the time to reflect on their learning experiences, considering the skills and concepts they have acquired throughout the week. This reflective process will encourage them to think critically about what worked well and what challenges they faced.Next, they will unleash their creativity by designing their own unique creations. This phase will allow students to apply their knowledge in innovative ways.
Day 4: Volleyball Fun
Warriors learned serving, passing, and setting through interactive drills and cooperative exercises. Modified games allowed everyone to experience the thrill of volleys and teamwork at the net. The energy was electric as players celebrated each successful bump and serve.
We will be assembling STEM kit cars. This hands-on project will provide students with an engaging way to explore key concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Day 3: Tennis Time
Players discovered forehand and backhand strokes through simple rallies and target practice. Serving techniques were introduced, with everyone getting plenty of chances to practice. The session wrapped up with fun games that had players running and laughing while honing their new skills.
In this project, we will be building various machines designed to replace traditional conveyor belts. Students will explore alternative methods for transporting materials and products in a manufacturing or assembly context.
Day 2: Soccer Skills
Warriors practiced dribbling, passing, and shooting in engaging drills before testing their abilities in small-sided games. The focus on cooperation and ball control helped build confidence with every kick. Laughter and cheers filled the field as new friendships formed through the beautiful game.
We will build robots from recycled materials.
Day 1: Basketball Basics
Warriors learned the importance of being fully ready head to shoe, with dribbling, passing, and shooting fundamentals through fun drills and skill stations. The session ended with friendly scrimmages where teamwork and sportsmanship took center stage. Everyone left with improved skills and big smiles after this energetic start.
We will build an harmonica using straws and popsicle sticks.
