PROJECT 1: HOT AIR BALLOON
Hot Air Balloon – Students design and illustrate their own hot air balloon, exploring shape, pattern, and color on the balloon envelope. The project introduces one-point perspective (for the balloon's basket, ropes, and structural lines) alongside atmospheric perspective (softening color/detail with distance to create depth in the sky and clouds). Students practice foundational perspective drawing while expressing individual creativity in balloon design.

PROJECT 2: DAWALI RANGOLI
Diwali – Mandala/ Rangoli Pattern. Students explore radial symmetry and pattern-making through the lens of Diwali, creating a Mandala or Rangoli-inspired design. The project can be executed as a technical still life or a graphite study, giving students practice in precision, symmetry, and fine detail work while learning about the cultural tradition behind the art form.

PROJECT 3: HALLOWEENN SCRATCHBOARD
Fall theme - A tonal landscape project on scratchboard, centered on autumn. Students scratch through the black coating to reveal the color or white layer beneath, using this technique to build silhouette (simplified shape/form against a background) and value/tone for depth and atmosphere. This reinforces perspective concepts from earlier in the sequence while introducing a new medium and mark-making process.
