It is Enough
By Charlize Ng
I wouldn't consider myself brave. I am not outspoken, I keep every one of my thoughts to myself. Perhaps this is the only part that others see, that I lack in opinions and I lack instance. I don't know how to use my voice for the better.
I wish I could tell you how much I think about the state of everything. the injustice present in our government, the millions of people that starve everyday, and the countless violations of human rights. I couldn’t possibly beat that, I couldn’t possibly have the words to speak out against that.
So I write. I talk about issues like these, and I find my reason into text and convey the beliefs I hold. I use these words as awareness, to spread positive advocacy for people like me, lost kids like me. My words are enough to prove my point.
DESCRIPTION — The poem expresses one’s internal struggle with being unable to combat the social issues in their county. The speaker finds themself being able to use their skill to write as an outlet to express their thoughts on the injustices of the society and assuring themself that their work is sufficiently conveying what they truly believe.
