What do we need to know more about?
Each of us was given a question and we had 30 minutes to research the topic.
HMW questions are about transforming problems into opportunities.
Problem: students can only buy unhealthy (high-sugar, processed) food on and close to school grounds.
Opportunity: How might we (HMW) provide students with an offer of healthy food at school?
When we heard or read something interesting, we had to convert it into a HMW question.
Then, we put all HMW notes up on the board, we clustered those with related topics and we had to vote for the most useful HMW questions.
How can we explore sustainability and consumerism for our students to become more eco-friendly using an educational game created by us?
Let's balance the nails
We had to balance 10 nails on top of a nail.
The KASAB chart is used to assess an individual or organisation's current level of proficiency in each of these areas (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, Aspiration and Behaviour) and to identify areas for improvement. It is used for long-term planning.
After a theoretical explanation about Games and Gamification, we had to think, individually, for a boardgame that would be the final outcome of our project.
Then, each of us had to present the idea in a very persuasive way so that the others voted our boardgame. Only one could win.
