From digital schools to schools for the digital era: training the trainers

Day 1 INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

On the first day of the programme, we were introduced to the course

MONDAY

TEAMBUILDING AND COLLABORATION EXERCISE

We got into 2 groups with people that we didn't know
We had to create a free-standing structure out of Kapla-bricks with a marble on top.
It had to be at least 70 cm tall
We had 10 minutes to do it!

WHAT IS PBL?

They explained what Project-based learning was about and the difference between PBL and a school based project through this activity

BLOOM'S TAXONOMY

Then, Emma introduced and explained the Bloom's Taxonomy. PBL is tightly related to it.

PROJECT CHALLENGE: CREATE AN EDUCATIONAL GAME

Students (us) had to create a game to reach others the relevant info/skills they learned

ADVOCATE FOR OUR TOPIC TO BECOME THE PROJECT TOPIC

What are the long-term benefits/opportunities of addressing this topic? What about the risks of ignoring this topic?
Pair (6 min)
Within our group (3 people each), we had to share the question answers and arguments
Share
We had to advocate our topic and present our arguments why it should become the project topic.
Vote
After 2 min of deliberation, we had to vote on the topic.

DRAW A MAP

We had to create a visual representation of the topic:
- We drew stakeholders on the left
- The beginning of the process on the left
- Our goals on the right.
- Place a flowchart with the issue

Each person had to vote for the outcomes/goals in which we were more interested in using sticky dots.

SNACK

We also had time for an european snack: Italy, Poland, Austria and Spain.
