Students can begin writing by creating a Five Finger Retell chart. To do this project, they will trace their hands, then write each part of the story on the fingertips that they drew. Include character, setting, beginning, middle, and end. They could also create a chart with the 5W questions to get started (Who? What? Where? When? Why?) They could also include "how" in their writing.
