About Mrs. Jost

This is my fifth year teaching at Illini Bluffs School District. Last school year was my third year teaching 6th grade ELA, and in 2016-2017, I served as a fourth grade teacher. In 2015-2016, I worked as an aide in middle school physical education and high school special education. My family includes my husband of 17 years and our three girls. We live on a 100-acre farm in the countryside of Mapleton. While we don't raise any animals, we see a lot of deer and turkey and other wildlife and enjoy the woods and creeks on our property. We enjoy camping and traveling---spending time together as a family. This summer, we spent 10 days in alabama visiting Gulf Shores and Smith Lake! We also toured the University of Alabama where my middle daughter would like to go to school someday!

My girls attend IBES and IBMS. Savannah will be in eighth grade, Avery will be in sixth grade, and Mackenzie (Mac) will be in fourth grade. Prior to having my own kids, I taught middle school language arts and technology at Morton Junior High School and 5th-8th Reading at Rankin School in Pekin.

Even though there are many uncertanties about the start of the new school year, I am excited to meet each and every 6th grade student! Many of you may know me as Avery's mom, and I know many of you as Avery's friend, but I am excited to learn more about each and every one of you: how do you learn best? What are some of your favorite things to do? What fears or worries do you have? And, I hope you learn more about me as well!
