Let me tell you a little bit about me. My name is Agata Guskaroska; I am currently a postdoctoral research associate at the Graduate College at Iowa State University. I hold PhD in Applied Linguistics and Technology from Iowa State University.
For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of teaching EFL/ESL and communication courses, as well as leading impactful programs such as a Global Online Course (GOC) and a MOOC on Using Educational Technology in the English Language Classroom. These experiences allowed me to connect with learners and educators from every corner of the globe. 🌍
During my time at the Center for Communication Excellence (CCE), I’ve worked closely with graduate students and postdocs, from various disciplines, include STEM and engineering , helping them develop their communication skills and reach their academic and professional goals. From designing courses to mentoring international facilitators and analyzing program data, my goal has always been to make learning accessible, impactful, and inspiring.
A few career highlights I’m proud of:
Developing and leading the institutional implementation of a new English Communication Practice (ECP) program for International Teaching Assistants from various disciplines at Iowa State University's Graduate College (Postdoc with Dr. Elena Cotos, Associate Dean for Professional Development)
Coordinating a MOOC that connected 130+ alumni facilitators with 10,000+ participants worldwide
Leading a team of 15+ mentors to support a diverse cohort of English teachers in a Global Online Course (GOC) on Educational Technology in the L2 Classroom
Collaborating on a major revision of the GOC with esteemed scholars (Dr. Carol Chapelle & Dr. Volker Hegelheimer)
Publishing two interactive books available for teachers and learners worldwide
Teaching Pronunciation with Confidence (Guskaroska et al., 2024)
