Welcome! My name is Mrs. Leah Lyons and I am the Drama Director at IHS. I received a bachelor of Arts in Theater (Performance Concentration) with a minor in Dance in May of 2007 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After earning my Bachelors degree, I returned to IUP to earn my Master of Arts degree in Teaching English. I was actually lucky enough to student teach here at IHS in the very position I now hold!

Before returning to IHS I taught at Warren Area High School and Tyrone Area Middle School. Through my IUP and teaching career I have had the opportunity to combine my love of teaching and the dramatic arts on multiple occasions. I have directed and choreographed numerous plays and musicals. The 2022 fall play will be the 30th show I have been privileged to direct at IHS. Although my time is mostly spent directing these days, some of my favorite roles include: Olive in The Twenty-Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, Luisa in The Fantasticks, and Woman 1 in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

I want to make my classroom an exciting and welcoming place for all students.
When not at school or rehearsal, I enjoy spending time with my husband, CJ, our sons Matthew (5) and Elliot (3), and our dog, Sweet Pea.
