About
ICELAM is an international conference that focuses on the latest development and knowledge sharing in the field of educational leadership and management. Initially known as the Regional Conference on Educational Leadership and Management (RCELAM), it has been organized by IAB biennially since 2009.
The primary objective of organising the 3rd ICELAM conference is to align with the goals established in 2015 by the United Nations (UN) that are known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a comprehensive set of 17 global goals. The SDGs address a wide range of economic, social, and environmental challenges and guide worldwide efforts towards sustainable development by year 2030. These goals encompass crucial areas such as poverty, inequality, climate change, education, health, peace, and justice.
The central theme of ICELAM 2023 is "Retaining and Sustaining Human Dignity in Educational Leadership and Management". In the context of education, "Retaining and Sustaining Human Dignity in Educational Leadership and Management" means maintaining and preserving the quality of education by implementing strategies and practices that support its continuous improvement and effectiveness. It involves identifying and retaining successful educational approaches, practices, and resources, as well as continuously adapting and innovating to meet the evolving needs of students and the ever-changing educational landscape.
By retaining effective practices and resources while simultaneously embracing innovation and adaptation, education can be sustained and effectively meet the needs of current and future generations. It emphasises the importance of continuity and long-term planning in ensuring the ongoing success and impact of educational systems. These goals provide a roadmap for governments, educational system, and individuals to work collectively towards a more sustainable and equitable future. In achieving all these goals, it requires collaboration, innovation, and transformative actions at all levels, from local to global.
