Teacher Resources

I have posted a link above that explains some of your options for remote learning. I'm adding directions and links as well. Just email me if you need help. I am happy to help.

Screencastify - First, go to the Chrome Store and search for Screencastify. Then, click add to Chrome. Once you do that, it will show up at the top right of your Google window.

Figure out what you want to say and do first. Then, click on the little pink arrow in the top right corner. It may ask you to enable your microphone. You should allow it. Click record desktop, and choose the application window that you want to record. Then it will count down and you are recording. Be sure that you are ready to record before doing this because the countdown may make you feel a little nervous. Once you are recording, you can pause it at any time by clicking the controls in the lower left corner. This works well if you suddenly don’t know what to say next or you run into a snag. You can pause it, fix it, and start it up again. The recording will look pretty seamless. Once you hit the end/stop button, your video will upload to your Google account. You can watch it as well at that time. Your movie will be in a Screencastify folder in Google. You should rename your video, if you haven’t already, so that you can tell each video apart. Then, you can share the video by creating a link. Be sure to choose "more" until you can give permission to all those who have the link. Otherwise, some may not be able to view it. Then, you can put the link in Seesaw by clicking link. You can email the link too. That is the beauty of creating a link. You don't have to worry about the size of the file.

Creating Audio or Video Files - The easiest way to make a video or audio recording is to use your own device and upload it to Google. You can make a movie using your device’s camera or record audio using your voice memo. Then, you can upload to Google Docs. First, download the Drive app to your device. Then, open your school account in Google Drive. Once you have made your movie or audio recording, you click Share or the upload icon (a square with an arrow going up) and choose Google Drive. If you don’t see it right away, click the three dots and more. When you click on Drive, you need to select a folder, click save here, and upload. If you have any problems, just email me. I'm happy to help.

Asynchronous Lessons Slide Show. ( This is a living Slide Show. I will add slides of all the latest information you can use as I learn it.)

Google Slides

If you want to assign something and you want all the kids to see one another's work and be able to comment or discuss something, you might want to use Google Slides. First, you create a slide with all the text boxes and colors you want. Then, click on the slide on the left and copy using command C. Then paste as many times as you have students, using command V. This will set up with a page for each student. Then, share with them, making sure you allow them to edit, they can go in and add their responses to their slides, while also being able to see all the other slides. Here is an example. As I posted, kids can ask questions and their peers can respond below in the dialogue box.

This was used quite often for online learning at MassCUE.

Using Google Slides with Pear Deck to write and create great lessons.

They changed the way Classroom looks from the student's view. Here is a video showing what the students see when they are on your Google Classroom. If you know what their view is, you can direct them and help. them.

Seesaw

Below are some of the shortcuts for icons when making a Seesaw assignment. I am available to help you. Just let me know if you need help.

This video shows you how to schedule activities to roll out later in the year. Plus you can adjust which students receive particular activities.
