Ysgol y Bedol's vision is to provide a rich education for all pupils to ensure that they realize their full potential. To achieve this, Ysgol y Bedol is an exciting and dynamic school that can adapt quickly to the teaching challenges of the twenty-first century. We are a school that develops strategies and pedagogy based on research, a school that is ready to take explore and experiment as a learning organisation, that promotes lifelong learning.
The School believes that every pupil is unique and that every child counts. The school is therefore a bridge that helps pupils to overcome any difficulties and that empowers our learners to become citizens who are ready to learn throughout their lives. Ysgol y Bedol is a school with an inclusive, person-centred ethos which prepares all learners to embrace the challenges of the future by providing a happy school for them to develop their skills to the maximum, and which keeps the needs and ambitions of each pupil at the heart what we offer within our curriculum.
As a School we have a responsibility to ensure that pupils who leave us at the end of Year 6 are confident, informed, creative and principled individuals.
We nurture healthy, independent and multilingual learners who enjoy their school and community. Ysgol y Bedol learners will be learners who show respect for all the school's stakeholders and are ambitious individuals who continually set high standards for themselves. There is a strong sense of working together as one community and as a result pupils, staff, parents and carers, governors and all the school's stakeholders will be proud members of the Ysgol y Bedol community. Our pupils value and respect their local community before they spread their wings and venture into the big world. By providing rich experiences and creating a sense of pride in their local community, the school's hope is that many of our pupils will return to enrich their local community and realize their aspirations as valuable members of society.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the children, their parents and carers, families, friends and members of the local community who are central to the life of Ysgol y Bedol. We value the contribution of every child who attends school and makes our school a happy and harmonious place to learn and work.
Our aim is to nurture pupils who are an integral part of modern Wales where the children will feel strongly about their language, their culture and their heritage.
Our mission statement is: 'Ymestyn i'r Dyfodol' and this underpins everything we do at Ysgol y Bedol. We aim to nurture pupils who will be caring, thoughtful citizens who aim to be the best they can be in whatever field they choose in the future.
Passionate learning is at the heart of what we promote, within a safe school environment where everyone is valued and respected. We encourage our pupils to develop independence and perseverance. We encourage our pupils to explore ideas, reason, explain and justify their thinking. This will enable them to make informed decisions and facilitate lifelong learning.
It is a privilege to lead such a special school, and we welcome parents and the local community, as partners, to ensure that together we can promote high standards of learning and behaviour. We welcome your participation in all aspects of the life and work of the school.
