The Wellbeing Offer
Mae Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad Iechyd a Lles (MDaPh) yn darparu strwythur holistaidd ar gyfer deall iechyd a lles.
The Health and Well-being Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) provides a holistic structure for understanding health and well-being.
Mae’n ymwneud â datblygu gallu dysgwyr i wynebu heriau a chyfleoedd bywyd. Elfennau sylfaenol y Maes hwn yw iechyd a datblygiad y corff, iechyd meddwl, a lles emosiynol a chymdeithasol. Bydd yn cefnogi dysgwyr i ddeall a gwerthfawrogi sut mae gwahanol elfennau iechyd a lles yn gysylltiedig â’i gilydd. Mae hefyd yn cydnabod bod iechyd a lles yn bwysig i alluogi dysgu llwyddiannus.

It is concerned with developing the capacity of learners to navigate life's opportunities and challenges. The fundamental components of this Area are physical health and development, mental health, and emotional and social well-being. It will support learners to understand and appreciate how the different components of health and well-being are interconnected, and it recognises that good health and well-being are important to enable successful learning.

Mae Gwella Dysgu Cymdeithasol ac Emosiynol mewn Ysgolion Cynradd yn adolygu’r ymchwil gorau sydd ar gael i gynnig chwe argymhelliad ymarferol i arweinwyr ysgol i gefnogi SEL da i bob plentyn.
Improving Social and Emotional Learning in Primary Schools reviews the best available research to offer school leaders six practical recommendations to support good SEL for all children.
Mae tystiolaeth o Becyn Cymorth Addysgu a Dysgu EEF yn awgrymu y gall SEL effeithiol arwain at enillion dysgu o +4 mis dros gyfnod o flwyddyn.
Nod menter SEAL yw cefnogi plant 3-16 oed i ddatblygu galluoedd cymdeithasol ac emosiynol:
hunan-ymwybyddiaeth
rheoli eu teimladau
cymhelliad
empathi
sgiliau cymdeithasol
Dangoswyd bod y sgiliau rhyngbersonol a rhyngbersonol hyn yn gwella dysgu ac yn hybu iechyd a lles emosiynol, ochr yn ochr ag ystod o fanteision eraill i ddisgyblion, teuluoedd ac ysgolion. Nod SEAL yw darparu cwricwlwm hawl i ddatblygu sgiliau cymdeithasol ac emosiynol o fewn fframwaith strwythuredig a blaengar, gan gynnig addysgu yn y dosbarth i bob plentyn 3-16 oed.
Fodd bynnag, mae'r dull yn cydnabod y bydd angen i ysgolion ddarparu continwwm o ddarpariaeth i ddiwallu anghenion pob dysgwr yn y maes hwn. Yn ogystal â darparu adnoddau cwricwlwm ar gyfer gwaith dosbarth, mae gan ysgolion fynediad at setiau o ddeunyddiau sydd wedi’u cynllunio i’w defnyddio mewn cyd-destun grŵp bach, ar gyfer plant a all fod ag anghenion ychwanegol mewn un neu fwy o feysydd o’r agweddau cymdeithasol ac emosiynol ar ddysgu SEAL is mapped to new Curriculum for Wales:
Mae SEAL wedi’i fapio i faes newydd Cwricwlwm i Gymru: Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad Iechyd a Lles a gall gefnogi datblygiad a dyluniad cwricwlwm eich ysgol.
Evidence from the EEF’s Teaching and Learning Toolkit suggests that effective SEL can lead to learning gains of +4 months over the course of a year.
The SEAL initiative aims to support children aged from 3-16 years to develop the social and emotional capabilities of:
self-awareness
managing their feelings
motivation
empathy
social skills
These interpersonal and intrapersonal skills have been shown to improve learning and promote emotional health and wellbeing, alongside a range of other benefits to pupils, families and schools. SEAL aims to provide an entitlement curriculum to develop social and emotional skills within a structured and progressive framework, offering class-based teaching to all children from 3-16yrs.
The approach does, however, recognise that schools will need to provide a continuum of provision to meet the needs of all learners in this area. In addition to providing curriculum resources for class-based work, schools have access to sets of materials designed to be used within a small group context, for children who may have additional needs in one or more area of the social and emotional aspects of learning.
SEAL is mapped to new Curriculum for Wales: Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning and Experience and can support your schools curriculum development and design.
