It is my pleasure to welcome you to Ponthir Primary School’s website. I am Aisling O’Mahony, proud to serve as Headteacher of this vibrant and nurturing school community.

At Ponthir, we are committed to providing a high-quality, engaging education within a caring, inclusive, and supportive environment. We celebrate diversity and are proud to be a school where every child feels valued, respected, and able to thrive. We believe that a truly inclusive education helps all children to grow in confidence, empathy, and understanding.

We are also a school with a strong passion for language learning, we are a Lead Multilingual School for schools across Torfaen, Newport, Monmouthshire and Blaenau Gwent. We recognise the importance of equipping our pupils with the skills to communicate across cultures and to develop a broader global awareness in an ever-changing world.

Our dedicated staff, supportive families, and enthusiastic pupils work together to create a school where everyone is encouraged to aim high, embrace new challenges, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
