Breakfast Club is open from 8.00am – 8:40am. Pupils should be brought to the canteen for Breakfast Club where they will be met by a member of Breakfast Club. Pupils who arrive after 8:30am will not be able to have a breakfast. If you would like your child to be enrolled in Breakfast Club, please collect a form from the main school reception.
In Caerphilly we put a great deal of time, effort and resources into creating healthy menus and promoting the healthy choices to pupils. Many parents and teachers asked us to provide the nutritional content of the meals served and this is what we have included below.
We also have menus for a range of medical diets and you can download these from this website and print out at home. This includes egg free, gluten free, milk free and nut free.
The cost of a Primary school meal is £2.00 which includes a main course and dessert.
We promote healthy eating at Phillipstown Primary School and strongly encourage the eating of fruit as a playtime snack. Junior children can bring money to school and purchase fruit daily from our fruit trolley at a cost of 30p per day. We have a good selection of fresh fruit regularly delivered to school including apples and bananas.
We recognise the health benefits of staying hydrated. We have many water fountains within school that the children can access. In the Juniors, children need to bring a water bottle (clearly marked with their name) to school that they can use to take a drink. Children in Nursery and the Infants receive a school milk drink every day.
