We are so excited to be back for the new academic year. We have some familiar faces who have come back to the class as well as welcoming some new friends into the class. We can't wait to share our learning adventures with you this year!
We started the term with a WOW day. Children were given a problem to solve and had various activities to to investigate to try to identify the emotions they might bring up.
The children showed so much enthusiausm on this day, proving themselves to be Healthy confident individuals. They were able to hit each of the four purposes throughout the day by being resilient, confident, ambitions, creative and empethetic towards their peers.
Check out the pictures below.
We had so much fun for Halloween, having a spooky drama session, designing and decorating our own pumpkins and making potions! We uses so many skills in our activities including our developing independence skills and problem solving. We also worked as a team and took turns in the activities we had.
We invited our families on a trip to the cinema. We really enjoyed this trip (especially the treats) and was made even more special by enjoying it with our mums, dads and grandparents.
Oh and we watched Trolls.
We used the opportunity to really find out more about animation and will be using our findings to make our own. We also became film critics for the day.
We gave this adventure 5 STARTS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We were really excited for Bonfire night. We of course discussed how to be safe and the reasons why but we also got creative.
We explored colour mixing, collage making, using a variety of different media to create our own images.
We also loved using Junk modelling materials to create our own Rockets.
Some of us used our phonics skills to write words to describe the things we heard and saw on bonfire night.
We spent a lot of time discussing the importance of the Poppy and what it stands for. The children enjoyed watching and reading information about the armed forces.
We painted our own poppies and thought of words to describe them.
We love Pudsey Bear day in Dosbarth Melyn, especially when we are allowed to wear our PJs.
This year we had so much fun, following directions to make our own Pudsey biscuits, making masks and raising need for this important cause. We listened to stories about how our fundraising would help others. It made us feel proud!
We were really lucky to have seen 2 pantomimes this Christmas - One was the Wizard of OZ. They came to our school to do their show and we really enjoyed it! It was so funny and we loved singing all the songs with them.
The other Pantomime was at the Park and Dare and was called Aladdin but miss forgot to take any pictures to share of that one. The best bit was when everyone was booing Jafar. We also thought the other characters were funny - especially the Police.
Our Christmas concert this year was Tinsel and Tea Towels. Miss was so proud of our performances. We were definitely brave and confident in the concert. Some of us were really nervous but we kept going anywas and made ourselves and our families really proud of us.
Just before Christmas we took part in the whole school Santa Dash down the lakeside to raise money and spread Christmas Cheer around our local community.
We sang Christmas Carols outside the local shops and ran around the lake with our friends and family. We had lots of fun, even if it was a little bit cold!
