In the first section of your strategy you will set out your aims and objectives to define your aspirations.
You will usually start by stating the purpose of the strategy and the rationale behind its formation. You may also wish to set an estimated date, i.e. end of the summer term 2025, by when you hope to have achieved the objectives that you will be setting.
You may wish to set between 2 and 5 aims. Here are some examples of aims that could be used:
Provide rich literacy experiences that progressively develop the skills of the learners.
To ensure that literacy skills are developed in both English and Cymraeg.
Develop consistently high expectations throughout the whole school.
Provide a clear structure for accountability.
Develop and embed effective planning methods that allows for the planning of progression in literacy skills.
Support the professional development of practitioners, to allow the effective embedding of literacy across the curriculum.
Provide a wide range of authentic literacy experiences to all learners.
Enhance the learning through the creative use of literacy that supports the learning, rather than being a separate task.
Develop informed, ethical citizens that are confident communicators.
Develop practitioners who are able to take full advantage of opportunities to naturally embed literacy as a tool to enhance the learning within their subject.
