Come and See
RE is a compulsory element within the curriculum and is taught in accordance with the agreed syllabus which is laid down by the Menevia Diocesan. The opening clauses of the 1988 Education Act require that the school Catholic curriculum must promote ‘the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils’ in preparation for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. Clearly, by its very nature, RE has a significant contribution to make towards the attainment of these purposes since it is essentially concerned with the process of exploring the religious understanding of human life and the value systems that societies seek to establish. Pupils are also given the opportunity to study other faiths such as Judaism and Islam.
