Art & Design

Understand that photographs can be edited digitally and discuss rights and permissions associated with this.
Examine the concept of digital rights, compare to forgeries in the world of art and discuss how digital technology impacts our creative property.
Explain basic copyright laws, e.g. learn that copyright is a legal system that protects their rights to creative work.
Act responsibly as creators and users of creative work, e.g. explore decisions that creators make when exercising their creative rights and responsibilities, giving consideration to ethical, real-life issues. Is it okay to copy and edit another artists design online?
Use graphics editing software to create digital artworks
Use photo editing tools to edit an existing image and create an image with a recognisable design aesthetic e.g. Pop Art
Examine the impact of ‘filters’ in photography, how does this impact our perception of others in an online environment. Create their own ‘filters’ using graphics editing software.

Music

Examine digital property and how music fits into the concept of digital rights and copyright law.
Explain basic copyright laws, e.g. learn that copyright is a legal system that protects their rights to creative work.
Understand copyright, licensing, fair use, and the rights they have as creators, e.g. consider different ways people license their copyrighted work.
Act responsibly as creators and users of creative work, e.g. explore decisions that creators make when exercising their creative rights and responsibilities, giving consideration to ethical, real-life issues.
Examine patters and loops within a piece of music. Investigate the impact of changing a loop or sequence within a piece of music.
Plan, sequence and create an original ringtone using BBC Micro:bit programming. (Micro:Bit Music)
Create a CD or Album cover, carefully considering the target audience and genre iconography.
Produce a composition using syballeus. A clear audience must be defined and a sequenced plan created.
