Dear Kurtz Families,
It has been a goal of ours to grow our digital footprint at Kurtz. Our emphasis on communication and on sharing our story continues to be an important aspect of our daily practices. We believe the great things we do each day are worthy of sharing out. We want the parents of our students to look to social media as a means to look into the school and observe the great things we are doing. It is almost like our posts give parents a daily ticket to a digital open house where they can get to know who we are and what we offer. It is our hope parents follow us on social media and model positive social media practices.
Our students are encouraged to ask questions and enjoy the materials we are posting, as a part of a safely monitored family experience. However, we know many negative issues take place online each day. We also see the negative impact social media has on young students, especially when they are unsupervised. We also know that social media is a huge part of the world they live in. Let’s work together to set the stage and the expectations for our children while they are young. We hope that laying the foundation for appropriate social media experiences will teach students how to be better individuals as they grow older.
Take time to show them what is acceptable and how to avoid things that are not acceptable.
Not sure where to start with social media? Open a family Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account and follow us. You will quickly see so many of the things we are excited to share with our community.
