Dawn Iglesias is in her ninth year of teaching and her sixth year at Farley Middle School! Previously, She taught for three years in Austin ISD at Mendez Middle School as the head director.
She graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelors in Music Education where she studied oboe under Dr. Davidson. During her time at Texas State, she performed with the Wind Ensemble for four years, several chamber groups, and toured throughout Europe for two summers.
Ms. Iglesias teaches beginning oboe, bassoon, flute, clarinet and saxophone, is director of the Wind Ensemble and assists with the Symphonic Band.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with family while participating in various activities such as running, hiking, kayaking, or gardening.

Kaitlyn Kennedy is in her fourth year of teaching and her first year at Farley Middle School. She spent her first three years of teaching in Bastrop ISD at Cedar Creek High School as the assistant director.
Ms. Kennedy is originally from Denton, TX where she attended Lake Dallas High School. She went on to earn a Bachelors in Music Education from Oklahoma State University where she studied horn under Professor Lanette Compton. During her time at Oklahoma State, she was an active member of Kappa Kappa Psi, the Cowboy Marching Band, the OSU horn choir and the OSU Concert Ensembles.
Kaitlyn Kennedy is an avid supporter of the marching arts. She was a performing member in the mellophone section of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from 2019-2021. Afterwards, she served on the Blue Knights DBC brass staff in 2022 and the Cavaliers DBC brass staff in 2023. She currently supports the marching arts by writing choreography for high schools in the Austin, TX area.
In her free time, she enjoys visiting local coffee shops, reading books, cooking new recipes, going on runs and spending time with her dog, Jax.
