I am pursuing exciting career opportunities around the world as a recent graduate. I currently live in Boston, but I am willing to relocate anywhere!
Please let me know if you have any questions about my background, experiences, projects, or personality.
January 2023 – June 2024
Northeastern University
Master of Science in Bioinformatics
I chose to pursue a master's degree in bioinformatics with a concentration in data analytics to further develop my skills in machine learning and the intersection of mathematics and biology that I started in undergrad. I learned that I love coding, have a great interest in data visualization, and want to pursue a career that transforms my knowledge from laboratory experiences into data workflow development.
September 2018 – December 2022
Northeastern University
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Cell and Molecular Biology
I was very involved in my undergraduate career. I received the Huntington 100 for my contributions to the campus community helping rebuild the Math Club. I was on three club executive boards: Social Media Coordinator for Math Club; Secretary for Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society; and Student Leader for DogHouse. I studied abroad in Budapest, Hungary, attending the Mathematical Heritage of Hungary Dialogue of Civilizations. I also participated in the Honor's Program and graduated with summa cum laude distinction. I focused my double major on my interests in machine learning and the intersection between mathematics and biology.
January 2024 – June 2024
Automation Engineering Co-op
I spent 6 months on the Research Automation team at Moderna developing walk-away methods on Hamilton liquid handlers with integrated peripheral equipment and cloud-based auto-recovery. I worked with the team to develop methods, optimize existing methods, and document changes in operating procedures. I learned how to use VENUS, the native Hamilton visual scripting software, Git in a team environment, and Jira scrum boards. I also created Tableau dashboards that showed descriptive statistics of instrument failures and breakdowns for the team to visualize common errors.
January 2022 – July 2022
Analytical Chemistry Co-op
I spent 7 months at BioNTech on their Peptide Chemistry team working on peptide purification and normalization. I used size-exclusion HPLC to purify peptides and UPLC to quantify impurities. I helped ease the workflow by generating a predictive model of the UPLC retention times based on the hydrophobicity and order of amino acids, which allowed the scientists to simply run a mass injection to calculate the HPLC gradient instead of a 7- or 11-minute UPLC method.
January 2021 – July 2021
Microbiology Assay Co-op
I spent 7 months on the Positive Blood Cultures team at SeLux Diagnostics conducting high throughput antimicrobial susceptibility testing for algorithm and system verification. SeLux produces a three-machine system that takes in blood inoculated with bacteria, separates the bacteria from the blood, and runs a metabolic assay and ELISA on the bacteria. My role involved testing the equipment until hardware or software failure and analyzing trends in the bacteria concentration as it moves through the system.
January 2020 – June 2020
Discovery Pharmacology Co-op
I spent 6 months on the Discovery Pharmacology team at EMD Serono conducting and analyzing AlphaLISAs on Jurkat T cells. I worked with the automation engineer to optimize the assays for Hamilton and Echo liquid handlers, developing both fully- and semi-automated methods. I received the True Blue award for significant contributions to the company during the pandemic.
December 2020 – February 2023
Building Supervisor
I worked as a building supervisor for University Recreation in the Marino and SquashBusters Centers at Northeastern University for 2 years. I was the on-site manager for all staff, leading by example to run all gym operations smoothly, and the point of contact for all students and faculty in the facilities to assist with any customer service needs. I also communicated any issues I faced to the larger supervisor team through digital documentation.
September 2018 – February 2023
Intramural Sports Referee and Supervisor
With University Recreation at Northeastern, I was an intramural referee for 5 years and an intramural supervisor for 3 of those years. I officiated volleyball and soccer games, and I supervised for flag football and basketball as well. As a supervisor, I was responsible for assigning officiating roles for my team members, mediating conflicts in the games, and documenting all events on each shift.
