My name is Sarah, and I am a recent graduate from Northeastern University. I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees at Northeastern, and I was greatly involved in the campus and biotech communities for the past 6 years.
I graduated with my master's degree in Bioinformatics, concentrating in Data Analytics in June 2024. At Northeastern, I became proficient in coding in R, python, and bash/shell. I practiced bioinformatics techniques, building data pipelines, machine learning, and data visualization. I also learned to use Canva and Tableau specifically for information sharing. I also learned how to program Hamilton Liquid Handlers and develop automated assays as a Research Automation Engineering co-op at Moderna Therapeutics.
I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Cell and Molecular Biology in December 2022. I completed a double major in the Honor's program and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I was very involved in the campus community, working in University Recreation for over four years as an Intramural Supervisor and Building Supervisor. I was also the Social Media Coordinator for the Math Club, and the Secretary for Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society. In my spare time I worked with the DogHouse to promote games, decorate Matthew’s Area, and cheer on our men’s and women’s hockey teams. These contributions to the community, along with participating in The Mathematical Heritage of Hungary Dialogue of Civilizations in Budapest, Hungary, led me to be one of the Huntington 100 inductees in the spring of 2022. I also completed 3 co-ops in Biotechnology Research – discovery pharmacology at EMD Serono, microbiology at SeLux Diagnostics, and analytical chemistry at BioNTech.
I have been directing my work and studies towards machine learning, data analytics, and computational science. I developed a passion for coding and new experiences. I love learning and making an impact on the world around me.
