Below you will find links to websites of some programs that can help challenge your child over the summer. There are camps/programs for all grade levels throughout Missouri. This is just a small glimpse into what is offered. Let me know if you need help searching for something.

Camp Invention - Week long STEM camp for grades K-6.
Cub Creek Science Camp - Campers get to interact with animals at this sleepaway camp in Rolla, Missouri. Ages 7 and up.
College for Kids College for Kids is a residential summer program for gifted students grades third through ninth. This summer exploration emphasizes on academic subjects that encourage creative, critical thinking skills, and at the same time, addresses the affective and physical needs of the gifted.
iD Tech Camp - One week camps on coding, game development, robotics, and design. Hosted at UMKC. Ages 7 and up. Average of 8 kids per instructor!
KC STEM Alliance Students: Stay engaged with STEM and the arts this summer. Opportunities abound throughout Missouri and Kansas. Student life can be hectic–homework, sports, friends, work, family and more make time scarce. The good news is you can start exploring science, technology, engineering and math at an early age and the many hands-on programs in the metro will give you a great framework for planning for your education and future career.
Lego Camp Come learn about science, engineering, life sciences and communication skills by building and programming robots using the LEGO NXTs through fun, hands-on, real-world, problem-solving activities. Children with different ability levels can gain experience relating concepts of science, technology and engineering to everyday life.
STEM Camp STEM camps teach hard skills for future careers, and foster valuable 21st-Century life skills like problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration.
Summer Quest Drury University is happy to offer a summer experience for gifted students. Courses are taught by highly qualified, effective teachers who understand and use both enrichment and acceleration. Courses are hands-on, activity oriented, and highly motivating.
The goals of Summer Quest/Summer Pals are:
To provide opportunities for students to interact with peers of similar academic abilities and interests.
To encourage students to use their intellectual and creative abilities.
To allow students to pursue areas of interest they would not have a chance to study elsewhere.
Summerscape Summerscape is designed for intellectually gifted students who have completed grades 6-9. Courses are selected and planned to provide an academic challenge and creative experiences. Classes are limited to 16 students. Thirty-eight courses could be offered in the areas of archaeology, music, debate, theater, computer science, journalism, video production, high-tech concepts, foreign language, photography, zoology, conservation, and leadership. Campus recreational facilities are available. Hands-on experiences, field trips, and the opportunity to interact with international students are key components of Summerscape. Students opting to live on campus will be housed in dormitories at Drury University.

John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth - CTY is a nonprofit dedicated to identifying and developing the talents of academically advanced pre-college students around the world. They provide summer and online courses in a wide variety of topics, including critical reading, English language development, science and engineering, world languages (Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish), and writing courses. Joseph Baldwin Academy A three-week residential program located on the campus of Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri with an academically challenging curriculum for grades 7-9. JBA offers a selection of liberal arts and sciences courses taught by Truman Faculty that simulate the experience of a first-year college student. JBA was created in 1985 in order to provide the benefits of a liberal arts education to students beyond its own undergraduates. JBA is proud to provide an academic challenge to younger students that is truly one of the finest of such opportunities in the nation and significantly more affordable than many comparable programs around the country.
Missouri Fine Arts Academy The Missouri Fine Arts Academy (MFAA) is a three-week summer residential program for highly motivated student artists in visual arts, theatre, dance, creative writing, and music. The Academy offers an intensive schedule of classes in interdisciplinary and discipline-specific arts, and a wide range of co-curricular activities. MFAA is conducted with the support and cooperation of Missouri State University, and is funded through program fees, grants, endowments, scholarships, and private donations.
