YEP is providing a fun opportunity for incoming 7th and 8th grade HUSD students. Students will learn techniques and theories of acting, explored through improvisation, exercises and scene study. Students will develop the resources for acting including relaxation, concentration, creativity, believability, and commitment. By the end of this summer students will have the ability to demonstrate some of the basic principles of acting by practicing and performing exercises.

To participate, students must:

• Be incoming 7th graders and Incoming 8th graders within HUSD at the time of enrollment.

• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (if applicable).

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.

• Complete the YEP and Chabot College online application process by the given deadline.

Important Information

***All students who pre-register will be placed on a waitlist and will be contacted by the YEP Site Leader to complete the registration processes***

• Upon completion of this summer opportunity, students will gain 3 college units.

• Class is led by a Chabot College Professor.

• Class begins July 5th 2022 and ends July 28th 2022

• Class meeting days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

• Class meeting times: 10:00am - 2:15pm (with a 30 minute lunch break)

• Class meeting location: In person at Cesar Chavez Middle School
