In developing a grasp of true leadership meaning, you must ask yourself not only what is leadership, but also, what is great leadership? Great leadership – quality leadership – is servant leadership. Servant leadership refers to someone who wants to influence others to serve the greater good. They don’t just want to get from Point A to Point B, and they’re not searching for an outcome that only benefits themselves; a great leader always has the big picture in mind. They’re searching for ways to not just help themselves, but to help other people and the community at large. They’re figuring out ways to influence their community and culture in such a way that everyone who’s part of it benefits. Serving the greater good is their driving force, also known as their purpose.
~Tony Robbins
The students in the photo are Jianna Nuevo, Rianne Mora, Hailey Lavarias, and Isabella Boado.
Some of our favorite foods are Sinigang Salmon, Halo-Halo.
Sinigang is a sour soup native to the Phillipines. In English, Sinigang is called "stewed [dish]" My favorite type of Sinigang is the one with salmon. It's a bit sour, but it's still really tasty and can be eaten with rice. The broth is usually made with pork, but you can also use other proteins and seafood.
In Halo-Halo it has ube ice cream, jellies, fruits, sweetened beans, milk, leche flan, and purple yam.
One of our favorite games in the Phillipines is called, " Nanay Tatay." The game is also like the game Lemonade, but at the end of the game you count and whatever number your at and clap that number.
The language that Filipinos' speak is called, Tagalog.

Dear Southgate Community:
The Bay Area continues to identify cases of citizens testing positive for COVID-19. On 11/7/22, a confirmed COVID-19 positive case was identified in our school community. We are following guidance from our Public Health Department on this matter.
You are being notified as part of our general safety provision. This is a precautionary notice, NOT a direct or potential contact notice. Please continue to report to school/work. You may consult with your medical provider for further advice, or if you have additional questions.
It can be disconcerting to not have specific information surrounding the individual; however, it is important that we respect the privacy of our students and staff. Per the Alameda County Public Health Department, a positive COVID-19 contact is limited to confirmed contact with household members, intimate partners, home caregivers, and those who have spent prolonged, close face-to-face contact of closer than six feet, for durations longer than 15 minutes with a case during their infectious period. If there were possible contact, you would be notified directly.
Please continue to monitor your own symptoms. Symptoms can include fever, cough and shortness of breath and can appear 2-14 days from exposure.
Please know we are in direct contact with the Alameda County Public Health Department and are following all public health guidelines and directives strictly. Our decision to sanitize areas of your work location are out of an abundance of caution and in the spirit of transparency. We will continue to keep you updated.

This report is the Bay Area Council Economic Institute’s second look at homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area. In our first report, Bay Area Homelessness: A Regional View of a Regional Crisis, released in 2019, we used interviews with local service providers and data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to capture the true scale and regional nature of the Bay Area’s homeless crisis. In this report, we examine the potential for using shelter mandates, also known as right to shelter policies, government intervention, and state and local policy changes, to help solve the Bay Area’s homelessness crisis.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is very concerned with Russia using Iran is sending at least 1000 weapons like battle drones and missiles , these weapons will change the tide of war that has been going on since February. The EU (European union) has given Ukraine 18 billion pounds (17,908,704,760 Us dollars) for Ukraine's needs like weapons, food, and shelter for their civilians. It is most Likely Iran is lying about how many weapons they are giving Russia, it is unknown how many weapons Iran has given to Russia and we only know that its at least 1000 and that's all we know. new things will happen but not yet. only time will tell. Ukraine's air force has been having to attack Russian launch sites . "Russians are not ready to admit they have occupied our country, president Zelensky said in September a month before the decree.

October is Filipino American History Month, a time for celebrating the heritage and achievements of Filipino Americans whose contributions have helped build and change this nation. As the second-largest Asian American population in the U.S. – and the third-largest ethnic group in California – Filipino Americans have played a critical role in the history, culture, and progress of the United States.
According to the Filipino American National Historical Society, October is a momentous time in the population’s history because it marks the anniversary of when Filipinos first arrived in the continental United States. During the time that Spain ruled the Philippines as a colony, 1565 to 1815, Spanish seafarers would often enlist Filipinos on voyages across the Pacific during the Manila galleon trade era. And on Oct. 18, 1587, the first-recorded Filipinos arrived aboard a Spanish ship in what is now Morro Bay, California, marking the start of Filipinos’ history in America.
Annual recognition of Filipino American History began in October of 1992 after a proposal by the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) in 1991. California officially recognized the heritage celebration in 2006, when the California Department of Education placed Filipino American History Month on its official calendar. The month became formally recognized by California three years later, when state Senator Leland Yee introduced a resolution to declare October as Filipino American History Month, which was later passed by the California State Assembly. In 2009, the heritage month obtained federal recognition when the Senate of the 111th Congress passed a formal resolution proclaiming October as Filipino American History Month.
This year’s theme — according to the FANHS official website — is “Celebrating our History and Legacies: 50 Years of Filipino American Studies, 40 Years of FANHS, and 30 years of Filipino American History Month.” The theme honors the anniversary of several important milestones in the grassroots efforts to uplift Filipino American history, including the 50-year anniversary of when Filipino American studies first started being taught in educational institutions, the 40-year anniversary of the founding of FANHS and the 30-year anniversary of when Filipino American History month was first recognized.
This October, First 5 LA is celebrating Filipino American History Month — and the art, music, leadership and commitment of L.A. County’s Filipino community to uplift history, heritage, traditions and learning – by sharing educational resources and local and virtual events taking place all month long. Join along in the festivities with your family by checking out our resource bank below!

Diwali, which means “series of lights,” is a five-day festival that coincides with the Hindu New Year. Diwali falls on the 15th day of Kartika, the holiest month in the Hindu calendar.
Who celebrates Diwali?
Hindus, Sikhs and Jains celebrate the holiday. In Jainism, it marks the spiritual awakening of Lord Mahavira. For Sikhs, it marks the day that Guru Hargobind Ji, the Sixth Sikh Guru, was freed from imprisonment.
The date of the festival changes each year. This year, the celebration falls on Monday.
Most people are celebrating the legend of the return of the Hindu god Rama and his wife, Sita, to their northern India kingdom of Ayodhya. The legend says Rama and Sita were exiled for 14 years after the defeat of the demon king Rayanna. Some honor Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, during Diwali.
Homes and businesses celebrate the festival of light by using diyas, which are small clay lamps, and by decorating with strings of lights. There are large fireworks celebrations to honor the message of the celebration of light overcoming the dark.
Rangoli patterns — colorful artwork made of rice or powder — are created at the entrances to homes. New clothes are worn during the festival, and the house is cleaned to welcome Lakshmi before Diwali begins.
During the festival, gifts are exchanged, sweet and savory foods are eaten, and those celebrating are encouraged to help others in need.
Each day has a special meaning. Here is how they are celebrated:
The first day is known as Dhanteras, with Dhan meaning “wealth” and “teras” meaning the 13th day of the lunar fortnight on the Hindu calendar. On this day, prosperity is celebrated.
The second day is known as Naraka Chaturdasi, or Chhoti Diwali, meaning “small Diwali.” On this day, the goddess Kali and Lord Krishna were believed to have destroyed the demon Narakasura and freed more than 15,000 captive princesses.

Did you know that video games can make you lose your most precious memories? There’s more than just losing your memory. Your brain cells can get killed everyday because you're playing video games. Although kids and people love video games, they can make you get bad vision and behavior changes too.
One reason why video games are harmful is because it is unhealthy to children and people who play it. You can become less clean by playing video games. Stressed eyes can lead to a headache which can be caused by playing on your computer or any other electronics. You also eat a lot of junk food instead of vegetables. Having bad vision can also be caused by playing video games. According to the article Too Much Time Spent Playing Video Games Can Damage Kids Brains, ´´Kids should be outside playing sports, but instead they are sitting inside playing sports on the screen.´ The more you play the worse it gets. Do not play for so long.
Clearly, video games have tons of violence in it and people still play it without noticing. Video games have a lot of shooting and terrible things, like bad language. It will increase your violent behavior. Making you angry and crazy. It will absolutely turn you into a violent person. Mostly people who played violent games became more violent. According to the Article Too Much Time Spent Playing Video Games Can Damage Kids’ Brains,´´ Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto include guns and bad language.´´ Shooting and killing is also included in different games too. Not every interesting game is violent, but most. I had a friend before who wanted to hurt others. He played the game Fortnite every day. He missed many things that were important to him, like his birthday. Many people were afraid of him at my school. Violence is never a way to make peace.
Also, addiction can keep you playing on and on. According to the article Too Much Time Spent Playing Video Games Can Damage Kids’ Brains, ´´ Fortnite isn’t only distracting kids. Top athletes are playing it too much also.´´ You could become addicted and lazy. Some people even play video games and care about it more than school subjects! They just can't even stop playing for one second. Staying on the screen playing 24/7 is not okay. You can forget everything you know. For example, I saw a girl before who once kept playing video games. She has known me for a long long time. Only now she forgot me and thought I was a stranger. I told her what we did and the things we have experienced, but she never remembered a single one. This is why many dangerous things can happen if you don’t know how to be cautious sometimes.
Another reason why video games are harmful is because they make you lose your memories. Video games can make you have migrains. Those are painful and hurtful headaches you can have when you play video games too much. Your brain cells can also Die. People lose many things in their brain when playing video games. According to the article Too Much Time Spent Playing Video Games Can Damage Kids’ Brains, ´´ Playing video games can hurt your mind.´´ You could become ill. Video games made people lose their memories of what they experienced. Your brain will shut off and die because of you playing video games. A better way not to let that happen is to move more and exercise. Then your brain will learn and become healthy.
My conclusion is that although many people love video games, they are very harmful to them, including you. Video games can change your behavior, not just other people. They made harmful things to kids' brains. Your beloved eyesight will slowly die. You will play 24/7 too. You must stop playing video games. Get out of your seat and warn others! You're literally relaxing in your seat right now like a melting ice cream scoop on a cone! >:(
