Welcome Page

N.P2.pdf

Welcome to my website,

Here, I will share some of the things I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September will be curiosity. Activities that we did for this were, a microscopy lab, cicada lab, Hungry Hungry Sphero challenge, Water quality testing, and our Wonder Journal.

My favorite was the Hungry Hungry Sphero because I got to build my own design and I was able to use my mind to work through problems.

Disaster on the Boundaries.MOV

Update for October, November, and December.

I liked this project because had a lot of time to work on it and I love making videos so I really enjoyed it. I could grow by maybe adding more details and adding more movements to the stop motion. Other than the Video I like the notes we do in class with our notebooks or the sketchnotes because I try to be organized with it which really helps my organization skills. I think that staying organized is really helping me right now in other classes.

Update for January, Feburary, and March

In these three months, we had many different projects but these three were some of my favorite.

Film Canister Experiment- We used seltzer tablets, water, and a film canister and measured how high the cap can shoot.

Stream Table- We added sand to a stream table and saw how the water cuts out rivers.

Van De Graaf Generator- We saw how the rubber band and coil create static energy and zapped people with it.

Updates for April and May

This month, we explored genetics, evolution, and invasive species. In genetics, we learned about Punnett Squares, meiosis and mitosis. In evolution we explored the rock pocket mouse evolution and did evolution stations. Last, we learned about invasive species through Frogbit notes and projects. These few months have been fun because we are nearing the end of school and I am ready for the end.

Final Thoughts on 8th Grade Science

8th grade science was amazing because we did alot of projects, I was able to learn more about 3d printing, and I enjoyed being around new people as this was all new to me when I moved schools. In the future, I would like to learn more about structural science which won't come until college but I am willing to wait.
