Welcome L.S 3.pdf

Welcome to my science website!

Here, I will share some of the things that I am learning in 8th grade science.

Our monthly goals will also be described. The goal for August and September was curiosity. Activities that we did for this were a microscopy lab, a wonder journal, water testing, a cicada lab, and a Hungry Hungry Sphero Challenge.

My favorite was the water testing because we got to see what the water is like around us.

Update for October, November, & December

I really loved doing sketch notes and being able to draw and create what we really think that project was about. I think I have room to grow in Hexagonal thinking activities because you really have to think about what goes in each space and how they connect. I really think science notebook notes really help me understand what we are learning about. When we did the Geologic time period walking outside I liked it because we could really see how long ago it had happened. Also, water testing is really good because we can see what our water is like where we live and what are some things that we can do to help. Quizzes are really fun to do because it helps me know what's going on. I also really love doing this science website because we can see how our projects went. When we use the Quake feed app it's really cool to see what Earthquakes are going on around the world. Those are some things of what I love doing in science and what things I have room to grow.

Update for January, February and March

I enjoyed doing the book creator with electricity and magnetism, the stream table and doing the experiment with film canisters. I liked doing the book creator because we got to learn about the atoms and all of that. We were able to do some labs with the magnets and also learn about static electricity with the Van de graaf generator. I also loved doing the stream table because it was hands on and it was cool to see where the water goes and what happens to the sides of the table. Finally, I enjoyed do the experiment with the film canister because we got the see how many tablets it takes for the lid of the canister to explode off. We leaned about the pressure.

Updates for April and May

These two months I enjoyed doing the Frog-bit notes because it made me use my creativity to create a bumber sticker. The punnet squares were also very interesting because now we can use them if we come across things that we need to figure out. Finally, I loved doing water quality info-graphic project because we got to see what the water levels were like in our area.

Final Thoughts on 8th Grade Science

I have really enjoyed science this year and I loved that I was able to learn a lot about physical science. I can't wait to learn more about Earth science in the upcoming years.
