Students are encouraged to grow their portfolios throughout their time in the HHS CJ Program. By their sophomore year, they should have a professional resume that they add to the remainder of their years. We revisit their resumes each year as they earn more certifications, complete volunteer opportunities, and work based learning programs.
Huntsville High School hosted the first Student Job Fair this school year with 21 local businesses participating.
Per TEA guidelines, Huntsville High School currently offers the Non-Commissioned Level II Security Officer Certification as the State Recognized Industry Based Certification. Other certifications earned by students include CPR/First Aid, FEMA, and Objective Jail Classification.

Students in the Law and Public Safety program are encouraged to join the HHS CJ Club. Within the club, members are able to participate in many events to give back to their community. Officers are elected and oversee the student organization, community service events, community service hours, and fundraising events. Members are also able to participate in various competitions through multiple organizations.

In the Practicum of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security, senior students are able to spend the spring semester observing and gaining hands on experience working with local agencies.
