Equipment used in the training program must be of the type and quality found to provide training to meet the program goals and performance objectives. The facilities must be appropriate for the variety of learning activities which occur in the LPS classrooms.

Equipment is only issued to students who are participating in competitions. Equipment is issued based upon their event, logged on a spreadsheet, and is kept in their student locker in the CJ Bay. Uniforms are washed after each competition and re-issued to the student. After all competitions are completed, students will clean out their lockers, check back in their equipment, and put it away.
Equipment used in the classroom is for all students to use depending on the lesson being taught. Certain items such as duty belts are fitted at the beginning of the year and labeled with each student's name for quick finding throughout the year.
Visitors Policy - Any visitors on campus must report to the kiosk and be checked in through the Raptor system using their state issued ID. They are provided with a name tag that must be visible at all times while on campus. Guest speaker requests must also be submitted to the administration department 5 days prior.
Campus Security - Huntsville Police Department provides a minimum of 2 School Resource Officers to the campus daily.
CrisisGO - Staff members are notified through their desktops and personal cell phones any time that an incident or drill is happening on campus.
Standard Response Protocol - Students are taught and reminded of the Standard Response Protocol throughout the school year. The posters are located near the exits of each classroom as well as the backs of all staff members ID Badges.
Drills - In pursuant with TEC 37.114, HHS conducts 1 Secure drill, 2 Lockdown drills, 1 Evacuate drill, 1 Shelter-in-Place drill, 1 Shelter for Severe Weather, and 1 Fire drill per month for the duration of the school year.
Evacuation Procedure - Students are drilled monthly on evacuating the building. Signs are posted by the exit of each classroom for their reference.
Audits - Governor Abbott has mandated that Texas schools be audited weekly for any open or unlocked interior and exterior doors. Local Law Enforcement also conducts intruder audits up to two times a school year.
Supplies and renewables are readily available and adequately stocked. When needed, a purchase request can be submitted to replenish them.
