Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a historic organization dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders through service, education, cultural experiences, and community engagement.
Curriculum Overview
In alignment with the mission of Jack and Jill of America’s National Cultural Exchange Trip, we are excited to introduce a home-based, pre-travel curriculum created especially for families preparing for the Italy & Croatia Cruise (July 28 – August 4, 2025). This thoughtfully designed curriculum is rooted in cultural awareness, intergenerational learning, and global citizenship, offering families the opportunity to begin their journey before they ever set sail.
Crafted with love and intention, each city on the itinerary—Rome, Naples (Capri), Messina, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Split, and Venice—is paired with family-friendly learning activities that spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and foster meaningful conversation across generations. The curriculum is flexible, hands-on, and designed to help families of all ages deepen their cultural understanding while making joyful memories together.
This curriculum is designed for families to enjoy together, featuring fun, hands-on activities like making pizza and creating art inspired by the techniques and traditions of the places we’ll visit. You can move through the materials at your own pace and in any order that fits your family’s rhythm—making learning part of the journey, right from home.
Whether you're exploring art, history, language, food, or geography, these activities bring each destination to life—and set the tone for a powerful in-person experience.
🧳 Get ready to travel not just across the sea, but through time, culture, and connection—starting right at home.
Why this Curriculum?
"As an excited Jack and Jill mother member, this curriculum began as a personal project to help my own family prepare for the cultural exchange trip. I then created it with the goal of offering all Jack and Jill families a meaningful way to engage, learn, and connect before we travel together—rooted in my passion for place-based, culturally responsive, and arts-based curricula.
I hope you enjoy and look forward to meeting you all this summer!"
