Term 3
On Friday 20th March, our school went "Red to Toe" to support Comic Relief! Students traded uniforms for scarlet outfits and funky red socks to raise money for those in need. We raised an amazing £231, thanks to your generosity. Congratulations to our winners of the "Design Your Own Red Nose" competition too. Winner's received their own mini-makers kits to keep their creative hands busy.
We are delighted to introduce Hamish and Milo, a pastoral intervention helping our children navigate big emotions. Children may be referred to develop resilience or social skills, ensuring they feel balanced and ready to engage with our curriculum.
School Counsellor & Mental Health Lead, Paula Johnson, provided a compassionate and practical workshop this module. She is able to support families with understanding the complex emotions of low mood and anxiety. As part of the workshop families explored:
Understanding Anxiety: Distinguishing between normal worry and anxiety, and understanding how it manifests in primary-aged children.
Navigating Low Mood: Recognizing the signs of low mood and withdrawal, and learning how to step in effectively.
Practical Management Techniques: Concrete strategies and tools you can use at home to help your child regulate their emotions and reduce distress.
Building a Network of Support: How to create a robust support system around your child and family so you don't have to manage these challenges alone.
If you were unable to attend the workshop but are interested in the information shared, please take a look at the presentation shared with families. Should you wish to access the school's theraputic offer please email Paula Johnson directly: paula.johnson@hundredofhoo.latrust.org.uk
To support our families with accessing the school's full pastoral offer we have created a pastoral support email address. This will be monitored and managed by Miss Murrells our Pastoral Lead. Should you wish to discuss any pastoral needs for your child or the wider family unit please do not hestitate to contact us. Miss Murrells will be happy to support and direct you and your child to provision both within school and the wider community. primarypastoral@hundredofhoo.latrust.org.uk
