Below we have attached resources for the training provided to Community Partners by California Volunteers for you to review and return to throughout our year together.
Note: There are materials being developed by the official College Corps team, these materials will include a Community Partners Handbook. Your partner campus will be sharing this with you soon.

Training Highlights:
Program Goals
Create a generation of civic-minded leaders who will bridge divides to solve problems.
Help students graduate college on time and with less debt.
Address societal challenges and help build more equitable communities across California.
Partner Roles
California Volunteers
Selct and Support higher education partners to:
Market and promote College Corps
Provide tech platform for timekeeping
Evaluate program results
Build statewide cohort experience
Partner Campuses
Leads program on each campus, including:
Recruit and select fellows
Select and support community partners
Provide academic course work / training
Build campus level cohort experience
Community Organizations
Collaborate with partner campuses to:
Shape impactful service opportunities
Coach and support Fellows
Provide feedback to Fellows and program
Share stories of impact
A Meaningful Service Experience
Expectations:
Direct interaction with community members - direct service (vs administrative tasks)
Clear projects, effective management + coaching
Direct interactions with the beneficiaries of your programs to better understand the complex issues being addressed
Provide a meaningful experience for the Fellows and make community impacts
Understanding Expectations
Identify one or. ore site supervisors on your staff with sufficient capacity to manage and support Fellows.
Participate in training and onboarding sessions provided by partner campus.
Share information on activities and results with partner campus and evaluation partner.
Understand program timeframes/commitments: program and academic calendars, student schedules and demands.
Policies
*College Corps leverages the AmeriCorps model
Displacement: Fellows are not considered employees and cannot displace the role of an employee
Timekeeping: is required through America Learns
Fundraising: This is not a currently approved activity
Prohibited activities: certain activities are prohibited, while Fellows are "on the clock" may not engage in the following activities:
Voter registration
Religious activtivities
Political activities and advocacy

Site Supervisor Role
Define Fellow roles, objectives and projects
Provide oversight, support, and guidance
Provide leadership and skill development
Review and approve timesheets
Collaborate on data collection
Share any issues with the campus partner College Corps staff.
Planning for Success
Assign supervisors who are a good fit
High quality training (fellows/supervisors)
