Who Should Apply?
Eligibility for Admission
Students applying to Sconzo must be a current 8th grader living within the Humble Independent School District attendance zones.
All students can apply to Sconzo ECHS.
Please note that per the Texas Education Agency ECHS Blueprint, priority weight is awarded to traditionally underrepresented students at colleges/universities, including students who are:
At-risk and/or economically disadvantaged students
First generation college students
English language learners
Students with disabilities
Successful ECHS Students
Good Attendance - Students must have at least 90% attendance at school.
Hard Working - Students are committed to high academic achievement in electives, core classes, and college courses.
Appropriate Behavior - Students understand that positive behavior is critical academic success.
Strong Communication - Students are willing to communicate with teachers and professors about performance and ask for support.
School Leaders - Students participate in community service and school activities beyond academics.

Self motivated to be academically successful
Shows maturity for age
Desires to attend college
Could be the first in his/her family to attend college
Willing and able to spend time on academics (two to three hours per night)
Willing to give up participation in UIL (sport, band, choir, etc.)
Needs financial help to start college
Willing to leave home high school campus
