Ms. Rachel Knipfer is a passionate orchestral educator with eighteen years of experience working with middle-level learners and a commitment to building resilient and expressive young musicians. Ms. Knipfer has been teaching Orchestra in the Hudson School District since 2008. Ms. Knipfer's cello teachers include Hong Wang (Bethel University), Tanya Remenikova (University of Minnesota-Twin Cities), and Janet Anthony (Lawrence University). Ms. Knipfer graduated from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor's of Music Degree in Music Education. She is also a certified Suzuki cello teacher. For 2024 and 2025, Ms. Knipfer is the cello section coach for the Wisconsin School Music Association's High School Honors Orchestra. Ms. Knipfer was the cello section coach for the WSMA's Middle Level Honors Orchestra from 2016-2018. Ms. Knipfer is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the American String Teachers Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the National Education Association.
In her free time, Ms. Knipfer enjoys attending concerts, reading crime fiction and fantasy novels, doing cross-stitch, playing cello and singing with her Kate Bush tribute band (In the Trees), teaching private cello lessons, spending quality time with her family and friends, and hanging out with her cats Louie and Mia. > . <
