Welcome

My name is Andrew Martin. I was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It is one of the major cities in South Africa and located on the southern coast of Africa. I graduated from Kent State University in 2014 (Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education)and from Notre Dame College in 2019 (Master's Degree in Educational Leadership). I've always enjoyed my experience in the educational environment and a major reason behind taking on this career path is because of my love of sports, coaching, and sharing this passion with others. I was brought up in a very social and active sporting family and have always enjoyed the positive attributes that physical fitness and activity have to offer. My amazing parents encouraged me to go for my dreams, to work hard, and to see the good in others, the very same ideas that I hope to share with my students.

I am a proud father to a son, Landon, and a daughter, Nola, and am happily married to my wife, Karli. My wife, also a teacher in Hudson, and her parents (both retired educators) have always been supportive motivators of my educational endeavors. Being involved in this wonderful career, educating children, and helping them to discover their fullest potential is truly a dream job.

PE not only keeps kids healthy, it’s been proved that PE makes helps kids learn better. It even stimulates the brain to grow new brain cells.

Help your students make the connection between what they’re learning in PE class and why they’re learning it by sharing this video with them and their parents.

This video explains the role of physical education with an emphasis on the meaning of physical literacy.
