1) All grades will be determined according to the following percentages:
93 – 100 = A 83 – 92 = B 73 – 82 = C 63 – 72 = D 62 and below F
2) 9-week grades will be determined by averaging the following grades:
a) CONTENT: Your content grade will be determined through the of quizzes, tests.
b) PROCESS : Your process grade will be determined upon your performance in the class. This includes homework, participation and/or journal work/notebook. .
c) PRODUCT: Your product grade will be determined through your ability to properly complete any projects and labs. Failure to complete any due lab/project will result in a 0% (0 points) for your score.
Your nine-week grades will be the result of the average of the above three grades.
3) Unannounced quick quizzes will be given. Quizzes may be orally given or written. Topics may include
Points of emphasis from the day before, a few vocabulary words, main ideas, but are not limited to these.
Please review material covered in class daily.
4) Cheating on any assigned work will result in a zero for that grade. Plagiarism on a report or project will
result in a zero for that grade.
5) All assigned work including homework must be completed on time. Circumstances, do occur and are
understood. Please communicate such problems early; not at DUE DATE TIME
6) SUPPLIES: Notebook/folder, NOTEBOOK for AIR QUESTIONS, (8th grade only) Paper, pencil/pen, color pencils, calculator, glue stick.. would constitute daily class supplies. Anything “needed” for a particular topic will be given in advanced notice.

“CLASSROOM RULES”- Mr. Parise
1. Discipline in the classroom will follow the rules outlined in the student handbook and the code of conduct. Violations of any of , these rules will result in appropriate punishment ranging from detention to possible suspension from school.
2. You are tardy if you are not in the room at the time the tone sounds or class is scheduled to start. There is to be no standing in the doorway before class. Punishments for excess tardies are stated in the student handbook.
3. Books, notebooks, pencils or pens are to be brought to class everyday unless otherwise indicated by me. Have pencils sharpened before class begins.
4. Use the scheduled time between classes for bathroom breaks. The restrooms in the science hall are to be used.
5. Notebooks are an excellent source of studying for tests & quizzes.
6. Detentions must be taken in accordance with the student handbook regardless of after school functions. They will be held after school. Failure to take a detention will result in an extra detention being given. Failure to take these detentions will result in a
recommendation that the student be suspended. Failure to take the suspension will result in an incomplete grade for the year or possible expulsion from school and failure for the year.
7. All lab equipment and materials in class must be put back to its designated area. Your table must be clean before you leave the , classroom. Computers are to be used only with permission from your teacher.
8. Any student with a physical or medical problem should note it on the index cards passed out the first day of school.
9. A lab fee of _____is due by the end of the first nine weeks. An incomplete grade must be given to any student who does not pay this fee. Any student who cannot pay this fee should see me.
10. Your group will not be dismissed if your area is not clean.
11. Substitute teachers' rules relate to all of the above rules.
12. NO FOOD, NO DRINK, NO CELL PHONES under ANY circumstances!!!!!!
