Graduation Requirements: In order to earn a high school diploma, students must earn the required credits, meet testing requirements, and earn a total of 2 diploma seals.
Credit Requirements:
English - 4 credits
Math - 4 credits
Science - 3 credits (Physical Science, Biology and one additional science)
Social Studies - 3 credits (World History, US History and US Government)
Health - .50 credit
Physical Ed - .50 credit OR PE Opt out for 2 full seasons of marching band, interscholastic athletics or cheerleading - must earn .50 credit of an additional elective
Community & Career Exploration - .50 credit
Fine Arts - 1 credit
Electives - 4.50 credits
21 credit total
Testing Requirements:
End of Course Tests - Earn a passing score (684 or higher) on the Algebra 1 and ELA 2 tests. (students will take the following EOC tests: ELA 2, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, US History, US Govt)
Students can also meet the testing requirement by completing two career-focused activities defined by the State: ie: 12 point industry credential, earn the OhioMeansJobs Readiness Seal)
The guidance counselors will contact any student/parent who may be deficient in either credit, testing scores or diploma seals with a plan to get back on track for graduation.
Graduation Seal Requirements: Students must earn two seals to graduate. One seal MUST be a state seal.

What are your plans after graduation?
Work – If you plan on entering the world of work after high school, you need to be prepared. Begin a resume. Look for employment opportunities. Practice your “soft skills”
Military – To enlist in the United States military you need a high school diploma or its equivalent. Recruiters from every branch of service are available to discuss options for military service -- The ASVAB is an important test for the military - do your best!!
Apprenticeship programs – Great choice for careers!! Get paid to learn a skilled trade. Information regarding apprenticeship programs are available in the guidance office and on the guidance website under the College Special Events tab. Students are paid throughout the training period. Technical College/Trade Schools - A great choice for students who want an alternative option from a traditional four year degree. These programs are usually 2 year intensive programs. There are a multitude of good paying job openings in the trades and technical fields.
College : The curriculum that prepares you for college:
4 years of English with emphasis on composition
3 credits of college prep math – Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry
3 credits of college prep science – Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry
3 credits of social studies
2 credits of one foreign language (some colleges may require 3 years)
1 credit of fine or performing arts – specifically from the areas of art, music, drama
These are the minimum requirements for college. Some schools may require additional credits in academic areas
The best way to prepare for your future is to take a rigorous schedule in high school. Challenge yourself!! Go the extra mile, it will pay off later on :)
