Our Steinert Boys Golf Team has had a very successful season!
With an overall record of 7-2, their only losses have come against Princeton, the Mercer County Tournament winners, and Allentown. The team has won two games by a single stroke, against Ewing 167-168 and Robbinsville 166-167. With their winning record, the team has advanced to the state tournament and senior Colin St. John, has qualified for the individual state tournament on May 8th, with the scores of 36,36, 37, 36 and 37. During the Mercer County Tournament, the team placed 8th in the county and 4th in the CVC. Colin St. John had a score of 74, junior Nick Vernon shot a 77 and senior Aiden Woodhead finished with a score of 84. Another notable moment in the team's season was when freshman, Jason Vernon, hit a hole in one during the match against Nottingham. The team won that match by a score of 167-199.
Along with the Varsity team, the JV golf team has had a notable season as well. The team, consisting of Avery Wagner, Justin Allen, Jake Haubert, A. J. O'Connor, Dylan Schwager, and Jason Vernon, got their first win in program history on April 4th against Hightstown, under the direction of Coach Frank Ferrara.
