On a celebrative night of July 12th, 2020, a time meant for partying turned a dark corner in the end. Megan Pete, famously known as “Megan Thee Stallion”, was riding in an SUV with her best friend, Kelsey Harris, Tory Lanez, and his bodyguard. Both Tory and Megan bumped heads during the car ride, resulting in a heated argument. Originally sitting in the front seat, Megan exited the car to avoid any more drama.
However, Lanez shot at Megan's feet through the back seat window, eventually hitting her foot. After crawling to safety, the intoxicated Tory Lanez proceeded to bribe Megan in order to keep her silence about the attempted murder. Tory was already facing probation. Though, Tory denies these allegations and claims that it was Megan's best friend instead, Kelsey Harris, who had shot her.
Following this horrific dispute, Megan feared telling the police she was around a black man in possession of a gun, so she told them she had cut her foot on glass. Although, her original claim about being cut by broken glass can be proven wrong due to proof of the repair surgery she went through to care for the gunshot wound. They also have proof of the bullet fragments and the remaining left in her foot.
Fast forward to 2022, Pete, Harris, and Lanez have been at each other on social media during the two years. Pete was ridiculed for her statements. Lanez and Harris frequently threw shade at her on many platforms. Many other musicians also ridiculed her on online platforms and in songs.
However, Lanez was found guilty of shooting Pete, decided in Dec 2022. Many were supportive that Pete finally received justice, while the other side disagreed with the jury’s decision, believing that the “lack of evidence” was not enough for the conviction.
Lanez is now possibly facing more than 20 years in jail and deportation. He is to be sentenced on Jan 27.
