After a five year hiatus, SZA released her second album, SOS. The popularity of the album is astronomical. SOS by SZA has reigned #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for the  entirety of the six weeks of its release. SZA joined Taylor Swift recently as the only female artists in history to simultaneously chart at least 20 songs on the Hot 100. She broke the record for the longest streaming week ever for an R&B album. The 23 track album obtained 404.6 million on demand streams, being the third greatest streaming week for an album in 2022. Initially, twenty-one songs from SOS made it onto the Billboard Hot 100. “Kill Bill” a TikTok sensation debuted at #3, while simultaneously leading the Streaming Songs, Hot R&B, and Hot Hip-Hop Songs. “Nobody Gets Me” landed at #10 and tracks including “Blind”, “Low”, and “Shirt” all rank in the top 20 region.  

This record breaking album is a personal favorite of ours from 2022. The way SZA is able to portray her emotions through her music leaves us in awe. The vulnerability in certain tracks from SOS makes it an album worthy of the praise it is getting. We look forward to the release of more new music from SZA real soon.
