Ava Calp
Ava Marie Calp (Citizen of Avenue Q). Ava is a freshman at HHW and is very excited to be performing in Avenue Q. She loves to dance, sing, and act. While this is Ava’s stage debut at HHW, she has been performing through the years with Tomato Patch, Odd Act, and Country Roads Dance Academy. Aside from performing, Ava likes to travel, read, listen to music, and spend time with her family and friends. She would like to thank her Mom, Miss Devin, Mrs. Meg, Aunt Jilly, and her Grandparents for their years of encouragement, guidance, and chauffeur duties!
Ashley Closel
Ashley Closel is a senior who loves to play the piano, likes long walks on the beach and getting caught in the rain. She also likes referencing songs and other media. This is her second musical and her last hurrah.
Kelsey Egan
Kelsey Egan (Bad Idea Bear). Kelsey is a Freshman and is so excited for her first musical at HHW! Her favorite thing to do is dance. Kelsey has been in many musicals at the Kelsey Theatre including The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, Tom Sawyer, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her favorite role she has ever played was the Genie in her middle school production of Aladdin. She would like to thank her mom and dad for endlessly supporting her and always allowing her to pursue her dreams.
Matthew Forman
Matthew Forman (Ensamble). Matthew is a junior at HHW. He loves acting, singing and dancing. He was in the ensemble for last year’s production of Mamma Mia. He wants to thank his friends and family for encouraging him to audition. Most importantly, he would like to thank the directors for providing him with such an amazing opportunity.
Mackenzie Foster
Mackenzie Foster (Mrs. Butz/ ensemble) has been participating in theater productions since the 3rd grade and has loved it ever since. From school plays to summer camps she will take any opportunity to perform. She is so excited to be in her third show here at Hamilton West, this year has been a challenge for everyone and she is so excited to be able to perform during this time where we all need a good laugh. She’d love to thank everyone involved who made this show possible.
Meghan Krenciciki
Meghan Krencicki: (Kate Monster) is a senior and is excited to be performing in her fourth and final musical here on the West stage. This is her eleventh musical! She will continue performing after high school and hopes to attend college for musical theatre in NYC this fall! She is overjoyed to perform in this show and is so happy to share the stage with such wonderful people. After this crazy year she hopes this show gives you a good laugh! She would like to thank Ms. Anzuini, Mrs. V and Mr. Fillmore for putting an amazing show together year after year and for giving her a place to be herself! Lastly, she would like to thank her family and friends for all the love and support and for always encouraging her to follow her dreams.
Moriah Lightner
Moria Lightner (Gary Coleman). Moriah Lightner is a freshman at Hamilton High West and she loves to dance and act. Avenue Q is her first musical that she has taken part in, but there is more to come for her. She would like to show her appreciation for her directors for all the hard work that they have and will be putting into this play.
Anayah Maldonado
Anayah Maldonado. Anayah is a juinor at HHW. She has been singing since she was 3. Performing for her church and other events. This is her first play, and she hopes there will be more in the near future. She wants to thank her parents for always believing in her and her talents. And she wants to thank the director for believing in a new face to the musical theater community.
James Murray
James Murray. James is a sophomore at HHW. He loves music and theatre. He was in the cast of Mamma Mia last year, and Avenue Q will be his first on stage appearance. He would like to thank his family, friends, directors, and voice coach from Schubin Studios for making this happen.
Vanessa Rubin
Vanessa Rubin (Citizen of Avenue Q) Is a Freshman at Hamilton High West. She loves musicals and anything musical theatre. While this is her first high school play, she has been in three other plays, like Shrek Jr (Baby Bear), Madagascar Jr (Mort) and Aladdin Jr (Iago). She would like to thank all of her amazing directors for working so hard to put this together and for the cast and crew to break a leg!
Angie Ruiz
Angie Ruiz is a junior who attends Hamilton High West. She has been singing in the school choir for 5 years but began her theater career with the Drowsy Chaperone in 2019. Since then, she's been very fond of singing and dancing on stage. She is extremely honored to be playing the role of Christmas Eve this year and hopes to bring joy to this otherwise wonderful woman. She also wants to thank her parents for supporting her and those who come to watch the high school’s musicals.
Samantha Szumloz
Samantha Szumloz is a junior at Hamilton West. Her proudest passions are singing and acting. She was an ensemble member in High School Musical 2 Jr. and played Gingy in Shrek The Musical Jr. at Grice Middle School. As a freshman, she was an ensemble member in HHW’s production of The Drowsy Chaperone. She was an ensemble member in HHW’s production of Mamma Mia! her sophomore year. That same year, she performed in a play she co-wrote with her Drama Club peers called “Safe Space” at Paper Mill Playhouse. Now, she plays one of the Bad Idea Bears in Avenue Q School Edition. She would like to thank her family, friends and play directors for encouraging her to pursue theater.
Matthew Valyo
Matt Valyo (Nicky, Trekkie Monster, Ricky): Matt is a Senior at Hamilton High West. Shows include: Into the Woods (Jack), The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert) and Mamma Mia (Harry Bright). Matt will be pursuing his education and East Carolina University this fall as a History Education major! He would like to thank all of his friends, family and educators who helped shape the person he is today! Enjoy Avenue Q!
Travis Weaver
Travis Weaver is a sophomore at the Mercer County STEM Academy and this is his second year performing in the musical at Hamilton High West. He was cast as the Priest in Mamma Mia in 2020. He also showed his comedic skills in all three musical productions in his years at Grice Middle School where he played Ryan Evans in High School Musical 2, Donkey in Shrek the Musical, and King Julien in Madagascar the Musical. In 8th grade he was the recipient of The Nicky Pratico Musical Theater Award. He thanks his directors and cast mates for making a great production despite the limitations that this year has brought.
