Writer's Workshop

What is Writer's Workshop?

Writers' Workshop is a special time where we write everyday. The workshop starts with a mini lesson where we learn about things famous authors do to make their stories better. Then off we go to write our own stories. During this time the teacher conferences with the students to work on their individual needs as writers. We end workshop by sharing out stories with the class.

What have we been learning during Writer's Workshop?

While writing personal narratives in class, we learned a small moment is a story that takes place at one time, one place. We have been working on adding emotion to our stories, bringing our characters to life with dialogue, making wow endings and beginnings and working on the mechanics to make our stories easier for the reader to read.

Writing Units: Personal Narrative, Informational, Chapter Books, Opinion and Realistic Fiction.
