The Hillsborough High School Lil' Raiders Preschool/Nursery Program is open to all Hillsborough residents ages 3-5 years old. Students must be three years old by January 31, 2021. There are two sessions (a morning and an afternoon option). The program runs Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for 1 hour and 20 minutes from mid-January through June. The cost for the program is $150/semester. Preschool spots available for each session are determined by high school enrollment in the course. Completed applications for the preschool are dated and kept on file in the order in which they are received.
The preschool child/nursery class is a 10 credit, double period elective for Hillsborough High School juniors and seniors who are interested in such career fields as education, therapy, child psychology, and social services, or as a basis for learning good parenting skills for future family life. The high school students spend the first semester studying the theory behind the emotional, physical, and social development of preschool children. During the second semester, the students apply their knowledge in the classroom with the preschool students by planning, organizing and supervising the program. The Preschool Program has been in operation since 1971.
