Membership Information
How do I become eligible for Thespians?
Thespian troupe members must meet the following criteria:
Completed one hundred hours of excellent theatre work.
Complete work in at least two of the following categories: Acting, Directing, Creative, Production, Administrative. Note: you do not need to have points in every category.
You may include quality work done at SCVTHS, community, children's, or professional theatre.
Half of the hours must be earned through participation with HHS Theatre.
Must have participated in at least two full-length productions, or one full-length and two one-acts, or four one-acts produced by HHS Theatre.

Points are self-reported, then tracked by the Thespians Vice President to ensure validity of membership.

Note: Shows included in the point tracking sheet must have been completed during your four years of high school.
The Benefits of Joining Thespians
Lifetime membership for every inductee, connecting them to Thespians on an international scale as well as within the chapter
Access to regional and national events for Thespians
The opportunity to receive awards, grants, and scholarships through the Educational Theatre Association, and to seek higher leadership as a Troupe or State/International Officer
While inactive thespians are not removed from the organization, they are not privilege to the following benefits and distinctions:
accumulating points
earning star levels
being recognized for their academic and theatre work and successes
attend thespian-exclusive troupe functions
eligible for field trips, serving state or international office, and/or competitions
be recognized as a thespian in the yearbook, website, college and/or scholarship applications, honors cords, etc.
cannot serve on a thespian troupe committee
cannot vote in thespian troupe business
cannot be nominated for or hold office for the HHS troupe
represent the troupe and/or society in any capacity
What makes me an Active/Inactive Thespian?
An active Thespian must be involved in at least two HHS Theatre Productions per year in order to retain their active status.
An inactive Thespian is categorized as a Thespian who:
Has not completed the required two yearly production requirements through the end of strike, or will no longer have the ability to meet this requirement
Does not actively and/or consistently participate in troupe activities
Accumulates three or more unexcused absences from Thespian troupe monthly meetings
Fails to serve as an active, participating, and contributing member of a committee
Does not pay annual troupe dues or submit annual paperwork
Does not meet the ideals of the society or district in regards to student behavior and ethics
No longer considered in good standing with building and district administration
Thespian Stars and Honors Ranking
You will earn one star level for every 10 points earned. When you hit the following milestones, you are recognized with an honors distinction.
Honors Thespian - upon earning 6 stars
National Honors Thespian - upon earning 12 stars
International Honors Thespian - upon earning 18 stars
Thespian Scholar Academic Distinction
Academic work is not a consideration for induction or maintaining active status in the society.
Thespians who demonstrate high academic success in overall coursework earn the distinction of scholar.
Thespian troupe directors may award the Thespian scholar distinction if the student has met the following eligibility requirements:
Officially inducted into ITS
Currently enrolled in the school and a active member in good standing of the troupe
Has earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for all academic coursework as determined upon the completion of tenth grade or any official grading period thereafter.
