Kindergarten 2024-25
Kindness Kids
Our Christian Character program is called Kindness Kids. 2025-26 will be the fourth year for our program. Since kindness is a gift from God, we want to learn to show kindness to all and reflect His work in us. We will strive to teach our children kindness by focusing on the our response to Jesus, our response to Others and our response to ourselves. Our theme is "Kindness Kids have JOY" , which combines our program with the national Lutheran School theme, "Make a Joyful Noise" for 25-26.
...Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! ...Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it/ Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.
Psalm 98:4,7-9
We begin with a study of God creating the world. We will focus on many different old testament lessons leading up to December, when our focus shifts to the new testament and Jesus' birth. In each Bible lesson, we learn ways to apply it to our own lives and see how He still speaks to us today. In each lesson we also look for ways that point us to Jesus, the Savior. The whole Bible points to Him. Talk with your child about what he/she is learning in religion class. Look for the Bible leaflets to come home in folders each week.
Kindergarten First Semester
There is so much to learn in Kindergarten and we will jump right in. As we learn to read, write, and gain math skills, we also continue to work on social skills and character.
