Institutional Review is an ongoing, cyclical process that uses the results from measured outcomes to improve the GSE. Both M.Ed. programs at the GSE are actively engaged in a review process to improve and provide the highest quality program to our candidates and ultimately, their students.
Additionally, the review process at the GSE aligns with the requirements of our accrediting agency, WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
Institutional Review at the GSE includes:
Institutional Assessment
Institutional Evaluation
After five years of annual reports on the goals for both Institutional Assessment and Institutional Evaluation, a process of Program Review takes place.
The Institutional Review brings both the areas of Evaluation and Assessment together. This involves a look back at the reports, results and changes made in the previous reviews, as well as an analysis of the impact of those changes and the documentation of any new plans for moving forward. The Institutional Review Report synthesizes these findings.
Before moving forward with the implementation of any proposed changes, the GSE Strategic Plan is revisited and aligned with the GSE budget, ensuring that next steps for improvement are in line with the strategic direction of the institution and are sustainable.
In addition to this process of closing the loop on the findings from the Institutional Assessment and Evaluation, there is a specific focus on evaluating the GSE’s review processes during the Institutional Review Year. The Institutional Review Cycle is summarized below and is described in more detail in the Institutional Review Plan.
The Institutional Review team includes the President, Dean, Program Directors, Director of Student Affairs and other appointed faculty and staff members. This team works together to use the data to improve the programs and operations at HTH GSE.
